Lost Checkbook Used in Forgery

A Salina woman is charged with forgery and theft after she allegedly wrote a check from another person’s closed account.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 48-year-old Terry Lynn Robinson was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday.

Police say Robinson apparently found a lost checkbook belonging to Wilma Baldwin – and used it to purchase $75 worth of items at the Pump Mart at 1118 N. 9th on June 27th.

Baldwin had closed the account after misplacing the checkbook in September of 2014.

The crime came to light after a collection agency contacted Baldwin about the forged check that bounced.
