Listening to Lincoln

The KSAL Morning News took the show on the road to Lincoln, Kansas on Wednesday.

KSAL’s Rich and Jeff joined in with the breakfast crowd at the Sunrise Cafe in Lincoln for some great food, fun and conversation with some of the leaders from around town.

Lincoln Mayor Travis Schwerdtfager pointed to the owners of the Sunrise Cafe – as citizens who stepped up when the town’s restaurant closed, “Jo Ann and Ron Buttenhoff are a perfect example of the can-do spirit here,” he said.

“They’ve never run a restaurant, but saw a need and just jumped in and it’s been great.”

Jo Ann told Rich and Jeff that running her kitchen at home prepared her for this step, “We raised five kids on our farm and that was a busy restaurant too!”

Local historian and owner of the Drug Store Museum, Jack Cripsin joined in during the third hour of the show with a look at Lincoln’s past and present – pointing out the many events and places visitors can enjoy.
