Liquor Store Theft and Chase

A Wichita woman leads law enforcement on a 22-mile chase down I-135.

A Salina Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop Wednesday evening at about 8:15pm on I-135 at Magnolia, after staff at Phil’s Liquor called police to report that four females in a gray, Mustang had stolen a bottle of Vodka from the store.

The driver sped up and led the officer plus a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper on a southbound chase that reached speeds of 95-mph.

The pursuit ended when the woman pulled over near a rest stop in McPherson County at mile post #68.

Police arrested 18-year-old Cabresha Hardwell on numerous charges that include theft, fleeing and eluding, plus endangering a child.

Lt. Scott Siemsen tells KSAL News that a 13-year-old girl was also in the vehicle as well as two other 19-year-old females from Wichita.
