Library Card Holders Can Check Out Tickets

Library card holders can now “check out” tickets to selected Salina events.

According to the library, the Cultural Pass program makes a limited number of tickets to Salina events available for free with a library card.

Passes will include tickets for the Salina Community Theatre, Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, Bicentennial Center, Salina Symphony, Salina Chorale, Bomber and Siren games, Kansas Wesleyan University events, a family pass to Rolling Hills Zoo, discounts for the Salina Art Center Cinema, and a special Smoky Hill Museum tour.

Patrons can find Cultural Passes across from the Adult Circulation Desk. Special opportunities will become available throughout the year as well.

The program was made possible by donations from participating organizations. “The Cultural Pass will showcase many of the unique cultural experiences available in our community,” Dianna Waite, the library’s Head of Circulation, said. “This will give people an opportunity to taste a bit of the cultural richness of our community and open new doors for learning and enrichment in their lives.”

Passes will be available each month on a first come, first serve basis. What is available will depend on what shows and performances are coming up. Patrons must have a current adult library card in good standing and be 18 or older. A family is limited to one pass per year.
