The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of a laser beam pointed into the cockpit of an airplane in the airspace over Salina Regional Airport.

Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that the Airport Authority told deputies on Friday night just before 9pm, a green laser beam was pointed at the aircraft from approximately 6-miles southwest of the airport.

Soldan says deputies talked to some residents in that area on Friday night, but no one had seen anything suspicious.

The pilot was not injured and there was no damage reported to the aircraft.
