Students at Kansas Wesleyan University got a first hand look Wednesday on what Salina has to offer, and learned some coyote traditions.
Over 50 businesses and organizations participated in a “Meet The Merchants” event. There were booths, prizes, and food at the three hour event at the Hauptli Student Center.
KWU Executive Director of Student Development Bridget Weiser that the goal was to have businesses come to the students to show them what Salina has to offer. Participating businesses included banks, restaurants, hair salons, media, and more. Several service organizations were present, as well as employment information.
Students arrived back on campus over the weekend, and have been kept busy. The first day of classes was Tuesday.
Weiser says a new event on the agenda this year was an all sports pep-rally Wednesday evening on campus. KWU traditions were introduced, including words to the school fight song “Back to Campus”.
