K-State Police Targeting Drunk Drivers

Campus police at Kansas State University are cracking down on drunken drivers, calling them a hazard to pedestrians and bicyclists.

The university’s police department has arrested 15 people suspected of drunken driving so far this year on and around the Manhattan campus.

Kansas State officials note that Manhattan has several options for people who choose not to drive after drinking alcohol. The university’s own Safe Ride program provides free rides on a scheduled route Thursdays through Saturdays. And anyone feeling buzzed can always take a taxi.
