An off-road vehicle is stolen from a rural property.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle theft from a home in the 4000 block of N. Woodward Road.

The owner contacted deputies after discovering his 1988 Jeep CJ5 “Rock Crawler” was missing.

Deputies say the red and yellow vehicle has specialty hydraulic systems and is improved to handle extreme off-road conditions.

The Jeep, valued at $10,000, was stored under a tarp and was stolen sometime between Wednesday at 5pm and early Thursday morning around 4:45am.

Folks its time to form groups arm ourselves and start looking after each others property. If we see someone out of place we need to take action and if caught stealing they need to be dealth with right then and there. We need to protect our property out in the county and the sheriff’s department cares more about speed traps then helping us out so we have to become pro active.
