A transient homeless man in Salina was arrested yesterday for allegedly beating a homeless woman.

Richard McMillen, 30, asked the victim for money, but when she didn’t have any to give, McMillen allegedly struck her several times in the face. A passerby happened to see it which caused the man to stop and run.

Emergency care was at the site, but the victim refused treatment. McMillen is being charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
