High Speed Chase Suspect Still at Large

At 4:46 p.m. Monday, Salina police were involved in a high speed chase starting near the intersection of Centennial Road and West Republic in which speeds of 80 mph were reached.

Capt. Chris Trocheck tells KSAL news that a patrolling officer recognized the driver of the silver Ford passenger car as a person wanted on felony warrants.

As the officer attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled southbound on Centennial Road, and then east on Schilling road before the chase was called off in the 2000 block of Ohio after approximately five minutes.

As of Tuesday morning, the suspect was not in custody.
