Salina Police are looking for a known suspect who escaped on a motorcycle in an early Friday morning chase.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that an officer on patrol at around 1:00 in the morning on Friday observed a black Harley Davidson motorcycle speeding on South Ohio Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Belmont and Roach Streets.

While the officer was out on foot approaching the motorcycle, the rider started it and sped off.

The motorcycle went north on Roach, west on Wayne, and south on Quincy before the officer lost sight of it, and the pursuit ended.

Sweeney says that they believe that they know who the rider is, and that they are confident he will be located.
