A hand gun and holster was found on the side of County Club Road on Sunday.

Major Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that a bicyclist contacted the Saline County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday at around 5:45pm after he discovered a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson Model 36 lying on the north side of Country Club Road near Niles Road.

The rider did not touch the gun and waited for deputies to arrive to take the weapon, which was loaded and kept in a black holster.

Soldan tells KSAL News that they are hoping the owner will come forward and provide a serial number for the gun so they can return it.
