Gun Found at Kenwood Cove

A handgun was discovered in a locker at Salina’s aquatic park last week.

According to Police Sergeant Jim Feldman, staff at Kenwood Cove contacted authorities last Thursday after they noticed a gun stored in a locker with the door open, and ID visible inside.

An investigation led to the arrest of 22-year-old Daniel Puckett for criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say the .38 caliber Smith & Wesson was not loaded at the pool and reported stolen from a family member’s home in the 700 block of Choctaw Ave. sometime between early May and mid-June.

No one was hurt.
