Five Arrested in Drug Investigation

The Drug Task Force makes one arrest and is seeking another suspect after searching a Salina home.

The I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force seized a large amount of methamphetamine and made five arrests after searching two houses in Salina on Thursday.

According to Task Force Commander Lt. Bill Cox, more arrests are anticipated after officers raided homes at 213 S. 2nd Street and 950 S. 3rd Street on Thursday afternoon.

Police arrested 35-year-old Jason L. Sheets and 30-year-old Ashley J. Weis after officers found personal use amounts of pot and a large quantity of meth at 213 S. 2nd. Sheets is facing multiple drug charges for possession with intent to sell while Weis was booked for two counts of endangering a child.

Lt Cox tells KSAL News that officers also took two men and a woman into custody after a search at 950 S. 3rd.

Police found personal use amounts of marijuana and meth and also guns at the residence and arrested 24-year-old Seth A. George, 28-year-old Kyle A. Palmer.

Officers also arrested 22-year-old Crystal D. Ellyson for unrelated outstanding warrants.

Lt. Cox says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
