Fireworks Complaints Keep Authorities Busy

The final numbers have been released by the Salina Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office for fireworks complaints over the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Capt. Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the Salina Police Dept. responded to 168 fireworks complaints and the sheriff’s office responded to four complaints between June 28 and July 5.

However, only 13 tickets were written due to improper use of fireworks from June 30 to July 4.

According to the Salina Police Dept., they responded to no reports of serious injuries due to fireworks.
