Festival Sights Sounds and Smiles

The 2017 Smoky Hill River Festival is in full swing as artists and festival goers converge on Oakdale Park.

Four-piece band “Papa Green Shoes” from Springfield, Missouri lit up Stage II with a mix of rock, funk and soul to open Friday’s musical marathon.

Performers from around the U.S. will be delighting crowds on four stages throughout the weekend.

Roving acts will also invade shady places with the Hip Hop Wagon this year.

Brandon Draper and members of the Drum Safari kept the beat with a pop-up concert Friday morning as urban hip-hop dancers improvised their groove.
