Fake Cash Passed in Salina

A number of counterfeit bills are discovered in Salina.

According to Police Sergeant Jim Feldman, a fake $100 bill was passed at Rod’s Convenience Store, 1401 S. Santa Fe sometime between July 17th and July 20th.

Police say a bogus $20 was also used at the Primetime Store, 100 N. Broadway sometime between Monday morning between 5am and 9am.

Sergeant Feldman tells KSAL News that on Tuesday a man tried to deposit four, counterfeit $20 bills at Sunflower Bank, 2450 S. 9th.

The customer told police he was not aware they were not genuine.
