Family and friends are planning to rally this weekend around a Marquette child who is battling brain cancer. An event to to benefit 2-year-old Browynn Birdsong is planned for Sunday evening at the Marquette Elementary School.

Michelle and Sammie King will perform, there will be cookies and refreshments, and a silent auction is planned. Browynn, and his entire family including his siblings, will be at the event.

Browynn has been battling brain cancer since August. It is a rare, aggressive form of cancer that fewer than 50 children have been diagnosed with.

Browynn and his family have battled through several setbacks. He has tumors in his spine, and with an uncertain prognosis, is currently at home with his family.

The fund raiser will start at 6:30 Sunday evening in Marquette at the elementary school.
