An elderly Salina woman passed away last night from injuries she sustained in a car crash yesterday afternoon south of Salina.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Mildred Cassaw, 91 of Salina, was driving on Water Well Road and attempted to make a U-Turn. A trash truck was coming from the opposite way and was unable to stop in time, hitting the driver’s side.

Cassaw was unconscious at the scene, was transported to Salina Regional, and passed away at around 10:30 that night.

How fast was the trash truck going? The speed limit is 40.

Prayers to the Family. Stan if the truck was coming from the landfill the speed limit is 55, but really doesn’t matter because a life was lost
