Stephanie Johannes is a math teacher at Central High. She has been teaching for two years at Central. Stephanie believes that education has the power to change the world. What she likes most about school is how every day brings a different challenge. Stephanie also enjoys connecting with students and watching them succeed.
Tyler Johnson is a senior at Central High with a 3.1 GPA. Tyler is the son of Jared and Leslie Johnson. He is a student ambassador at Central. In the community, he is involved with First Covenant Church. Tyler’s favorite classes are AP Lit and Intro to Teaching. In his off time, Tyler likes to hang out with his girlfriend.
Brady McAfee is a senior at South High. He is the son of Paul and Tammy McAfee. Brady is the manager of the South football team, plays basketball and baseball as well for the Cougars. His favorite thing about school is being a special education aid for Mrs. Baker. He takes students around to deliver newspapers to classrooms and also help the students with anything that they are doing. Brady is the youngest sibling with two brothers and one sister.
Sydney Peterson is an 8th grader at South Middle. She is the daughter of Kristine and Darren Peterson. Sydney plays basketball and cross country for the Cougars. She’s also involved in Sensations. In her free time, Sydney volunteers at Rolling Hills Zoo. Her favorite class is P.E. and she’s looking forward to playing basketball this winter. Sydney has two dogs and two brothers.
Brielle Eland is an 8th grader at Lakewood Middle. Brielle is the daughter of Todd and Tracy Eland. She participates in cheerleading, track and band at Lakewood. Brielle is vice president of the Sunny Valley 4H Club, participates with the First Covenant Youth Group and plays softball for the Salina Stars. Brielle says that she likes all the teachers and staff at Lakewood because they help students become better people. She enjoys sports, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Brielle hopes to open up her own bakery someday.
