Tess Crawford

She teaches 7th grade math and has been teaching a total of 15 years total; 7 at Lakewood. She loves teaching middle school because that wasn’t a good time in her life so she wants to be a mentor. Mrs. Crawford loves the challenge of meeting students’ needs and finding varying ways to make concepts make sense. Her favorite part of teaching is building relationships with her students. She wishes to tell us, “Often times when a child acts out is when he or she needs to feel like they matter even when their actions may be saying something different.”


Tai Bounyareth

She’s in the 12th grade with a 3.9 GPA; daughter of Thao Duong and Bryan Weikle. She participates at school in student council as the treasurer, national honor society as the secretary, 639 troupe thespian, and spirit ambassadors. In the community she volunteers at the hospital, library, and the emergency food bank. Tai loves learning new things every day and enjoys getting to see her favorite teachers and other friendly faces. She will be attending KU next fall and majoring in pre-pharmacy.


Leo Torres

He’s in the 10th grade and is the son of Efrain and Cesilia Torres. He participates in school on the South soccer team. In the community he volunteers at church. Leo is looking forward to the new building and enjoys playing soccer. He makes delicious tacos.


Emma Hilbert

She’s in the 6th grade with a 4.0 GPA; daughter of Brian and Missy Hilbert. In the community she participates in Gymnastics, Shiloh Ranch/horses. She loves everything about school and really enjoys reading and math with Mrs. Chrisman. Emma wants to be a teacher. She loves to dance and hang out with friends.


Liberty Phelps

She’s in the 6th grade; daughter of Jeremy and Vanessa Phelps. She helps anyone out at school. In the community she participates in My Choice and My Voice. Her favorite subject is English because Mrs. Johnson gives them directions one step at a time. Liberty loves all sports. She has a brother named Angel, and two dogs named Nash and Ridley.
