Joana Rodriguez

She’s in the 11th grade with a 3.6 GPA; daughter of Hector & Sara Rodriguez. She is active within the community by volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Salina. Joana’s favorite classes at school are Math, English and French. She tells us she has a lot of support from her counselor and Ms. Pearson. She loves her family and enjoys spending time with them! She also likes to spend time with her friends and her two puppies, Snoopy and Simba.


Ninthavong Detvongsa

She’s in the 11th grade; daughter of Non & Kham Detvongsa. She participates in the Orchestra and the Musical Pit in The Adams Family Musical. She’s also active with the Healthy Lifestyles Leadership Group. Ninthavong creates wedding/birthday invitations and participates in beauty pageants held by the Buddhist Temple of Salina. She enjoys learning new things at school, working hard and showing skills with effort to improve. She has been graphic designing for the past 5 years and her favorite band is The Strokes. She really likes fat cats with flat faces.


Daniel Woodard

“DJ” is in the 6th grade and is the son of Joey and Laura Woodard. He participates in the community with Sharp Performance Football & the Salina Parks and Rec Baseball. His favorite classes at school are Art & History. DJ plans to attend college after High School. He’s the #baconking of Salina!


Molly Michaelis

She’s in the 8th grade with a 4.0 GPA; daughter of Todd & Amanda Michaelis. She’s active at school as the Basketball Manager and she’s volunteered over 75 hours in the community this year. What she enjoys most about school is Math, Gifted/Multimedia, and the Tennis Team. Molly plans to attend college and becoming a Second Grade Teacher. She has two dogs, Hazel & Emma. She enjoys traveling.
