East Iron Stores Hit Again

A Salina downtown business is burglarized again.

Investigators returned to the 100 block of E. Iron on Monday, after someone broke into Iron Street Tattoo, 113 E. Iron for a second time in three days.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that sometime between 2am and 6am October 17, someone forced open a back door that lead into a common hallway shared by several businesses.

Police say burglars then forced open a door at Hello Kira at 121 E. Iron and took a Bose speaker for an Apple iPhone valued at $400 and caused $200 in damages.

The thieves then forced their way into Iron Street Tattoo and stole a safe with an undisclosed amount of cash plus other miscellaneous items.

Burglars hit three downtown stores in Salina over the weekend. Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that thieves broke into the back door at Iron Street Tattoo, 113 E. Iron and then gained access to Income Tax Services, 115 E. Iron and Salina Vapor, 117 E. Iron by punching through the back walls of the stores that share a common back hallway. Police say burglars stole an Apple iPhone from Salina Vapor and a vape pen plus $200 cash was removed from a safe. Loss and damage is estimated at $1,000.
