Salina Police are investigating a suspected arson fire set early Wednesday morning.

Police Sergeant Jim Feldman tells KSAL News that just before 2:30am today a passerby called police to report a fire behind Rent A Center located at 1409 W. Crawford.

Crews from Salina Fire Department found a stack of wooden pallets fully engulfed in flames and extinguished the fire.

Police report that the paint on the back of the building was scorched and an exterior security light was damaged by the fire.

No one was injured.

Damage is estimated at $500.
