Street resurfacing work begins Monday on East Iron.

According to the City of Salina, crews will begin microsurfacing portions of E. Iron, between Delaware Avenue and Marymount Road today.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions during paving operations.

The project is expected to be completed sometime Friday, September 25th.

This resurfacing project is a component of the 2015 Street Maintenance Program.

According to the city, microsurfacing is a method of pavement surface treatment which prolongs the serviceability of streets by creating a moisture-resistant barrier while increasing the rideability.

So let’s block Iron street off even more. Hey Gage and commissioners another good move but you can make it better by also doing the same on Crawford while you are doing Iron. Its time we get some real leadership in Salina.
