Driver Hitting Cows Hurt

A truck driver is hurt when he hits multiple cows late Tuesday night,

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Matthew Salter from Missouri Valley, Iowa, was driving a Peterbilt semiĀ on K15 Highway. He struck four cows, and ended up in the east ditch.

Salter was hurt, and was transported to the hospital in Clay Center. It was not immediately known if he was buckled up.

The crash happened at 10:40 Tuesday night on K15 Highway in rural Clay County seventeen miles south of Clay Center.

Why all of a sudden is it not know if he was buckled up? Seems like every article about accidents that is one of the favorite comments of the highway patrol.

I hope the owner of the cows is held liable. It would seem that being personal property of someone, there would be a liability for damages to the truck.

For the record Fuchs….they are required to report seatbelt use….simple as that. I’m really surprised that a person who seems to know everything isn’t aware of that.

Poor cows…..They need to sue.
