Two people from Russell are in Saline County Jail today after being arrested last night for possession of methamphetamines.
Justin Atchison and Sandra Ballentine, both 38 of Russell, were driving northbound on I-135, and were changing lanes unsafely. This prompted a deputy to pull them over. The deputy’s dog was able to smell out the drugs in the vehicle which led to the subsequent search and confiscation of five baggies of methamphetamines.
Atchison faces charges for driving on a suspended licence, possession of opiates and drug paraphernalia and unsafely changing lanes. Balentine is charged with possession of opiates and drug paraphernalia.
