Darius Rucker Coming To Salina

It’s been a record year for Darius Rucker. Arguably one of the most applauded singles of the year, “Wagon Wheel” has helped the platinum-selling entertainer earn multiple nominations from the CMA and ACA Awards. Fans of his third chart-topping country album, True Believers, can catch Rucker at the Salina Bicentennial Center on Saturday, March 8 with special guest David Nail.

An exclusive VIP Experience pre-sale will be available on Thursday, November 21 at 10 a.m. to Friday, November 22 at 10 p.m. Visit BicentennialCenter.com to sign up for the VIP Experience.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette calls Rucker’s live show “a killer set,” and The Morning Call hails him as “the best male performer in country music right now.”

“As an entertainer, there’s nothing like seeing the fans react to your music. I’ve been blessed to have country radio take six of our songs to No. 1, so we thought it was the perfect time to take the True Believers Tour on the road,” shares Rucker. “It’s going to be an awesome show.”

Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, Rucker has had a truly remarkable few years. In 2008, he released Learn to Live; the album’s first single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” made him the first African American with a Number One country song since Charley Pride in 1983. It was followed by two more singles that topped the chart – “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and “Alright” – and earned him the New Artist award from the Country Music Association. His 2010 follow-up, Charleston, SC 1966, included two more Number Ones, “Come Back Song” and “This.”

In October 2012, Rucker achieved a childhood dream when he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Asked if he can believe the unprecedented success of his second career, Rucker just laughs. “From where I was five years ago to the Grand Ole Opry, why would I believe that?”

Rucker will perform during “The 47th Annual CMA Awards,” which airs live on Nov. 6, and on “CMA Country Christmas,” which will air on Dec. 2. Both specials will air on the ABC Television Network.

Singer/songwriter David Nail is a GRAMMY-nominated MCA Nashville recording artist with one of the most distinct voices in country music today. Nail recently released his fastest-rising single to date, “Whatever She’s Got,” which is also the lead single from his forthcoming third studio album due out in the spring of 2014. Nail is currently headlining his fall tour and has previously toured with Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Little Big Town and Billy Currington.
