Craigslist Home Not As Advertised

A Salina woman was scammed from a Craigslist ad for a home in town.

The ad for a home on Birch Street caught the 19-year-old’s attention, and when she contacted who she thought was the landlord, she was instructed to send $580 via Moneygram. After she sent the money, the “landlord” stopped communication and she realized she had been scammed.

Salina police urge caution when responding to Craigslist ads, and ask that consumers use common sense to spot these kinds of scams.
