Cop Kicked while Making Arrest

KSAL StaffJuly 10, 2017

An incident that began with a man trying to steal a purse out of a van leads to his arrest after he allegedly kicked a Salina Police officer.

Captain Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that on Sunday around 3:10pm officers were called to an apartment complex at 821 N. 2nd after 63-year-old Richard Bouthillier walked up to a woman’s van, then reached in to try and steal her purse and bag of groceries.

The woman told police she then tried to drive away and Bouthillier jumped in front of the vehicle and threatened to rape her.

Captain Forrester says Bouthillier kicked an officer while being taken into custody.

He is now facing charges that include criminal threat, aggravated burglary, theft and battery of a law enforcement officer.
