Computer, Safe Stolen

Jeff Garretson - September 30, 2013 11:04 am

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home burglary.

Deputies were called to the 2000 block of East Gray Road on Saturday afternoon, after the owner discovered a number of items were missing from his bedroom.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that the owner returned home in the early hours of Saturday morning and woke up that afternoon to discover that someone had been in his home earlier that day.

Deputies say an HP laptop was stolen as well as a 32-inch flat screen TV as well as a small safe that was torn off the bedroom wall.

The owner told authorities that his daughter’s 1/2 carat diamond ring plus earings and blank checks were inside the safe.

Total loss and damage is listed at $1,835.

Another crime another unsolved case for our geezer sheriff. Just keep those deputies parked on the roads doing radar.

fuchs, you seem to have a problem with law enforcement. What does it stem from?

Many years ago law enforcement here were more intent on patrolling naturally that was when we had a good sheriff and police chief. Crime at that time was held down to a minimum. Today even with the crime spree going on the priority is writting tickets not attacking crime.

I got a question for Glenn. Why do you ignor how bad law enforcement is in this area? You know boy I used to work my ground all the time years ago an there was not a day I did not see a sheriff car go by. Yes that is right a sheriff’s car that was before the current sheriff deamed it necessary to buy these high dollar 4 wheel drive trucks to roam around the city in or sit on the side of the road. They sure do not want to get them dirty. Just the fact knowing that an area is being patrolled is a deterrant but when you know there is no patrolling you can pick and choose who to steal from without worrying about law enforcement.

Little touchie Glenn? Your trying to be smart on here but if you were you would know redneck calls everyone boy. Now for your sending everyone to a web site common sense will tell you that those figures are not correct. They are submitted by agencies that are not going to make themselves look bad. Why not go back 30 years and see what you find.

Say what BOY? Evidently you have some kind of problem. Why did you not go back further when the chief of police and sheriff were different people in those positions? Evidently you did not want to see the truth about both of these departments and how well and efficient they were run when competent people were the heads of both.

Say what red neck. are you ashamed to use your name? Heck lets go back 50 no 100 years , I bet crime was lower then. Now this is for the people who are supposed monitor this site. How about making people use their real names. You know what kind of people hide behind an alias
