Cocaine, Pot Found During Stop

A traffic stop near the I-70 / I-135 junction leads to the arrest of three Texas men on drug charges and the confiscation of over $9,000 in cocaine and marijuana.

Captain Roger Soldan with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office tells KSAL News, that a deputy on patrol pulled over a Ford sedan on Monday night at about 11:40pm – after the driver continued traveling in the passing lane of eastbound I-70.

The deputy noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a search then revealed two packages of marijuana weighing a combined 500 grams .

Deputies also confiscated 73 grams of cocaine plus found various containers of marijuana laced treats.

The driver, 19-year-old Christian Mark Martinez of Rosharon, Texas is now facing multiple charges that include drug possession with intent to distribute.

Passengers, Thomas B. Stippick, 22, and Jesus A. Sanchez, 19, both of suburban Houston are facing similar drug charges.
