Salina Police stopped over 180 vehicles during a recent campaign to raise seat belt awareness.

According to Police Sergeant Brent Rupert, between May 22 and June 3, officers stopped 183 vehicles and handed out 171 citations to adults in Salina who were not buckled up.

Ten citations were issued to adults who were driving with children who were not legally buckled up.

Rupert added that 3 drivers were ticketed for speeding, 1 for DUI and 35 other people were cited for other various violations.
