KSAL StaffOctober 13, 2016

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a church in Assaria.

Lt. Mike Smith tells KSAL News that sometime between 9pm Tuesday evening and 6am Wednesday someone broke into the Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W. 1st Street, and stole a 60-inch flat screen television.

Deputies say someone smashed a north window on the building to gain entry and then entered the pastor’s office and community room.

Thieves also broke a window on the secretary’ office door and ransacked the room.

Taken was a HP computer tower, acoustic guitar and the $600 Vizio flat screen.

Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,260.
