A Salina man leads police on a high speed chase after allegedly kicking a woman.

Monday night around 9pm officers were called to the area of North Street and Idlewilde after an argument turned violent.

Police say 25-year-old Alan Salgado walked up to a Chevy Suburban driven by a 22-year-old woman he is acquainted with and pulled her out of the vehicle.

Several children exited the SUV before he kicked her and drove away at a high rate of speed. Police say the chase began when he continued westbound on North Street and ran a stop sign at Santa Fe.

Officers report Salgado’s vehicle reached speeds of 75-miles per hour as he drove south bound on I-135 and was finally pulled over on Crawford Street.

The woman refused medical treatment for swollen lips and a cut on her nose.

Salgado is facing multiple charges that include aggravated battery, DUI and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.

Hmmm evidently our officers do not realize the speed limit is 75mph on interstate 35. I guess therefore he was not speeding.

They were NOT on Interstate 35…. it was Interstate-135 and no, apparently he was not speeding on the freeway…. Geesh!
