Car Alarm Stops Burglary

A would-be thief walked into a Salina office building Wednesday to report a car alarm that was sounding off in the parking lot.

Police Captain Chris Trocheck tells KSAL News that 19-year-old Tyus Price was arrested after staff at the Kansas Department of Children and Families, 901 W. Chester, reviewed video from the parking lot and identified Price as the suspect who was attempting to enter the vehicle.

Police say he tried to break into an employee’s 2000 Honda Accord around 3:15pm Wednesday afternoon.

Price is charged with burglary and theft.
