Candidate Forum Events Planned

A couple of different upcoming candidate forum events are planned in Salina.

The first event is later this week. The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters will sponsor a Candidates Forum for Saline County Clerk candidates, Saline County Commission candidates, and State Legislative candidates from Saline County on Thursday. It will be 6-9pm in Sam’s Chapel on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.

Two sessions will be held. The first session will run from 6-7pm and will feature Saline County Clerk and Saline County Commission candidates. The second session will run from 7:15-9pm and feature local State Legislative candidates.

The second event will be hosted by NEA Salina, and is planned for Wednesday, October 12the. It will be from 5-6:00 pm at the South High Commons. The focus of this event will be education issues.

Local candidates for Kansas State Senate, Kansas House of Representatives, and Kansas State School Board have been invited to introduce themselves, and visit formally with constituents. KNEA legislative and political advocate Mark Desetti will also be at the event.
