Salina Police are investigating after a woman is fooled over the telephone.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, a 35-year-old woman in Salina received a call on Tuesday, from someone claiming to be with a utility company.

The caller convinced the homeowner in order to qualify for an upgrade with some home appliance repairs, she would need to purchase a prepay Green Dot Card and transfer the amount back to the caller.

Police say she sent the scammer $600 before contacting authorities.

Why cry about it after the fact if you are that stupid. She deserves to lose her money maybe next time she will wake up to what’s going on.
