California Man Hurt When Van Rolls Near Abilene

A California man was transported to the hospital Saturday night following a single-vehicle crash near Abilene on Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford Econoline Van driven by 45-year-old William B Wallett from Senoia, Georgia, was headed east. For a unknown reason he drove into the median and struck a guard rail. the van rolled, coming to rest in the west bound lanes.

A passenger in the van, 36-year-old Cooper B. Lynn Sr from Dixon, California, was transported to the hospital in Abilene. He was not buckled up.

Wallett and another passenger, 31-year-old Mark Buckingham from Hanover, Pennsylvania, were both also possibly injured but refused transport to the hospital. They were both buckled up.

The crash happened Saturday evening at 6:35,  eight miles east of Abilene on Interstate 70.
