Salina Police are investigating an alleged payroll check scam.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that on November 15th four Hispanic males and one female entered Fiesta VIP at 1515 West Crawford. All five cashed what appeared to be payroll checks from Nuno Landscape and Cleaning Service Abilene. The checks were in the amount of:

• $599.78
• $459.98
• $576.54
• $596.54
• $596.54

Sweeney says that it turns out the checks were on an account from Bank of the West in Wichita that had been closed. Total loss is $2,829.38.

No arrests have been made.
