Bus Sex Case Sent to Barton County

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office will not file charges in connection with allegations involving the Great Bend High School Boys Swim Team.

On February 20th an alleged sex assault was reported to Salina authorities. Allegedly a sex assault happened on a bus as the team was driving home from a swim meet at Salina South High School on February 3rd.

Sheriff Captain Roger Soldan says that an investigation revealed that the alleged incident did not happen in Saline County, but rather it happened as the bus was traveling in Barton County. The case has been forwarded to authorities there.

The allegation is the second involving the team. Another alleged sexual assault happened on a bus carrying the team on February 6th as it was returning home from a meet in Manhattan. That alleged assault occurred in Ellsworth County, and is being investigated by authorities there.
