A bug is blamed for causing a crash on Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Ford Fiesta was headed east on Interstate 70 Saturday afternoon.

The driver, 16-year-old Jeremy Baggs fron Dacula, Georgia, was distracted by a bug. He veered off the road into the south ditch and struck the 196 milemarker sign. The car came to rest facing northeast.

Baggs and a passenger, 21-year-old Chelsea Bell from Kelso, Washington, were both transported to the hospital in Russell. Troopers say that both were buckled up.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon 11 miles east of Russell on Interstate 70.

this is what happens when you got inexperienced drivers out there on the roads and although the bug story is interesting its probably more like texting while driving

i agree it is not funny, someone was hurt and it has nothing to do with age or inexperience, bugs can distract you, like flies and mosquitoes,it was just an unfortunate accident, i hope and pray they are ok
