Brief Search In Minneapolis
KSAL Staff - April 22, 2014 3:01 pm
Negative publicity and low pay has Kansas law enforcement agencies struggling to recruit new officers at a time when agencies have hundreds of openings but not enough qualified applicants to fill them.
A search for a possibly suicidal person had businesses and schools in Minneapolis briefly on alert early Tuesday afternoon.
Officials tell KSAL News that a report of a person who was possibly suicidal, and possibly had a weapon, prompted the search. The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted Ottawa County law enforcement.
The search ended when a person was taken into custody at around 1:30.
