Bookkeeper Charged with Theft

A former office manager at a Salina business is now facing charges for embezzling over $8,600.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News an investigation that began in February of this year culminated in the arrest of 41-year-old Sarah T. Jones on Monday.

Police say an internal audit at Tox-Eol Pest Management, 417 S. Clark raised concerns.

The investigation showed that between August of 2015 and November of 2015, Jones allegedly took cash and credit card payments made to the company and converted them into deposits for her own bank account.

She is now facing charges that could include theft of property and computer unlawful acts.
