The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body is found in a wooded area in South Salina.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that the family of a 32-year-old Salina man is still being contacted before the identity will be released.

The body had a rope around its neck, which was tied to a tree branch above. Authorities do not suspect foul play at this time. An autopsy is being performed this afternoon.

The body was discovered late Thursday afternoon in a wooded area in South Salina, north of Schilling road. It was found by neighbors out walking.

Authorities estimate the man had been there for about a day.
