UPDATE: BB-Gun Vandals Arrested

Salina Police have made another arrest in the case of the BB-Gun vandals.

Police Capt. Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that officers arrested a 15 year-old. Prior to his arrest, the teen had commented on the KSAL Facebook about his involvement in the crime.

He has been charged with burglary, theft and two-counts of damage to property.

The subject turned himself in to his school’s resource officer on Wednesday.

Salina Police arrested two brothers accused of shooting out several windows with a pellet gun.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 16-year-old boy and his 14-year-old brother were taken into custody on Monday after a pedestrian was allegedly shot in the leg with a pellet gun near their home in the 1000 block of North 8th.

Police say David Perasso, of Salina was walking on the sidewalk around 1pm and heard a pop – then felt the pain of a pellet striking his right calf.

He then saw both boys in the area and called police.

Investigators found a pellet pistol and were able to link them to a number of incidents of vandalism including a burglary at the Pump Mart, 118 N. 9th.

The two are accused of stealing cigarettes and petty cash from the drawer after smashing the door to enter the business early Sunday morning.

Police believe they also shot the windows out at Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Salina, 500 Kenwood Park and the Salvation Army, 1137 N. Santa Fe and a window on a van at Ryan’s Electric Service located at 1108 Holiday. The brothers are now being held in Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City and are facing numerous charges for damage to property burglary and theft.

Captain Sweeney says there could be additional charges and and arrests made as the investigation continues.
