Criminals in Salina are doing some back to school thieving in preparation for the new academic year.

Between Sunday night and Monday morning, Linsey Dennis, 29, became the victim of a burglary.

There were signs of forced entry into Dennis’ apartment on the 700 block of Fairdale and an array of missing items. Among the missing items were a laptop, 32 inch flat screen TV,  a cable modem, a Sony surround sound sub woofer and an iPod.

The total loss in stolen property is $1,186 along with $170 in damages to Dennis’ apartment.

Another unsolved case. I wonder where we are in hiring a good chief of police.

A writer also knows not to use an apostrophe to make a plural, although I will give him points for doing the possessive form of Dennis correctly.

From an ordinary person on the Internet, an improper use of an apostrophe is no big deal. From a professional writer I expect more.
