A Salina man reached out to police after being assaulted in early August.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 45-year-old Melvin Evans was treated for an injury to his head and released from the hospital on August 8th.

Thursday he contacted police to try and recount what happened to him at his home in the 1000 block of N. Santa Fe.

Captain Sweeney says they are investigating his story and that he may be a victim of assault.
