A Hutchinson man has been arrested in connection with a year old shooting incident in Salina.

According to Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney, 34-year-old Chauncey Brownfield of Hutchinson was arrested on a warrant in Salina.

Sweeney says that on May 11th, 2014, officers were sent to 2363 Chapel Ridge in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they met a 42 year old male victim with a gunshot wound to the groin.

Police believe that at about 10:20pm, Brownfield went to the victim’s apartment, knocked on the door, and attempted to rob the victim. Before leaving, he shot the victim in the groin area.

Brownfield did not leave with any of the victim’s property.
