Arrest Made in Stabbing Case

A Salina man sought in a stabbing at a motel parking lot is now in custody.

Sunday, officers arrested 24-year-old Michael D. Georage on multiple charges including aggravated battery and assault.

Police allege he stabbed 44-year-old Lonnie Martain in the legs after the two had shared a car ride to the Howard Johnson Inn, 222 E. Diamond Drive on February 14th.

The victim told officers that he tried to run away after Georage pulled a gun out and told him to get in the trunk of the car.

During the struggle, police say the victim’s knife fell out of his pocket, and was then used against him.

Martain was transported to Salina Regional Health Care Center where staff used 13-stitches to close his stab wounds.
