American Legion Commander Hurt in Crash

KSAL Staff - May 30, 2016 12:04 pm

Authorities are investigating after a Topeka police car was involved in a fatal accident with another car.

The Commander of Salina American Legion Post #62 was absent from Memorial Day activities Monday, after he was injured in a Sunday motorcycle crash.

The crash happened in rural Ottawa County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 62-year-old Stanley Britt was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle, headed east on K-18 Highway. For an unknown reason he lost control, entered a ditch, and overturned.

Britt was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.

The crash happened at 1:34 Sunday afternoon, about 8 miles east of Bennington on K-18 Highway.
