Ambulance Involved in Crash

An Ambulance headed to Salina Regional Health Center was involved in a two-vehicle crash near the Saline / Ellsworth County line early Tuesday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the ambulance was headed east on K-140 Highway. The ambulance driver, identified as 34-year-old Jeremiah Brown of Great Bend, attempted to pass a Ford F350 feeding truck with a big round bale in it. The truck was making a left-hand turn into a field and was hit in the left side.

Brown was disabled in the crash, and was transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center. 49-year-old Ricky Soukup of Ellsworth and 57-year-old Kathryn Whitmer of Wilson were also in the ambulance. Both also were transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.

The driver of the truck, 52-year-old Donald Goddard of Brookville, was not hurt.

The crash happened at 8:40 Tuesday morning, 6 tenths of a mile west of Brookville on K-140 Highway.
